10th Annual Founder's Day

Honoring Pastor Charles J. Bell Sr.

80th Birthday

Gospel of Christ Ministries will host its 10th Annual Founder’s Day Event on Sunday, September 22nd at 3:00 p.m.  We will honor our pastor, Charles J. Bell Sr. 80th Birthday.

Pastor Bell was ordained a minister receiving a Certificate of License on July 17, 1964 from Deliverance Evangelistic Center of Brooklyn, NY. He served faithfully at Stone Deliverance Temple for 43 years, under the leadership of Pastor Mary L. Stone. During this time, as Business Manager, he played an integral part in establishing sister churches in Cleveland, OH; Canton, OH; Daytona Beach, FL; and Bay Minette, AL.

Pastor Bell founded the Gospel of Christ Ministries initially as a Bible Study group with five people in his home.  On August 1, 2007, we moved to the basement of Sister Thelma Cox Bell and the Bible Study group immediately grew to about 20 people.

In December 2007, we moved from the basement and rented afternoon space from Pastor Lovie Moore  (New Life Baptist Church) located in Kenmore.  We were blessed to be with Pastor Moore for about one year. In July 2008 we purchased a building on Lovers Lane (formerly a bar) and renovated it into a church.

In March 2010, Pastor Bell was informed that the church at 732 Russell was available and with determination and persistence he pursued this opportunity. God gave him favor with the bank and was able to get financing for the church.

In July 2018, we sold the church at 732 Russell. We moved to New Covenant Church at 1587 W. Exchange St. currently having afternoon services.

In July 2018 Pastor Bell‘s first book “God’s Purpose for Man  From Creation to His Kingdom on Earth” was published.

On behalf of the Founder’s Day committee, to support our efforts to be a blessing to our pastor, we would like you to be part of honoring him in the Anniversary/Birthday Souvenir Book and dinner.
